Who says
north is up?
The topic of this project was map distortion, which is how certain locations on the everyday Mercator Map are stretched out and inaccurately displayed. To begin this project, Ashley was encouraged by her graduate professors to gather content about this topic. Then, Ashley was asked to incorporate as much of this content as she could into just two posters. This project pushed Ashley to think in ways she never had before when designing. She was encouraged to think about hierarchy and typography in new ways, as well as how to place content onto the posters in informative yet engaging ways. There is so much detail within these two works that still also work together as a pair, but including such fine and rich detail may draw viewers in to see this work more closely.
